If you want to be able to support staff and colleagues in the workplace and promote positive mental health, then this is the course for you.
Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are required to undertake this course. To secure your place please return the completed registration form available by contacting us. After this, we will arrange an initial advice and guidance session before completing an initial assessment.
Why should I do this qualification?
This course will help enable you to support those with mental ill health through in depth study of mental ill health, treatment options and the potential consequences of mental ill health.
You will develop skills to support colleagues with mental health problems by learning to recognise the signs of mental ill health; you will learn about the principles of mental health first aid and how to apply this in the workplace.
What will I learn?
Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace explores different types of mental ill health and factors that may increase the risk of mental ill health. It will provide you with an understanding of how to support individuals with mental ill health.
You will study three mandatory units:
- Exploring Mental health
- Understand how to support individuals with mental ill health
- Understand a mentally healthy environment
How will I be assessed?
The course will be internally assessed by your tutor. You will be required to answer questions in an electronic workbook. Completing work at a a time to suit you, we provide recommended submission dates but you do not need to stick to these. Your tutor is available to provide support throughout the course.
