Who is this course for?

If you want to start a career in a mental health service this qualification will support you by increasing your understanding of mental health and mental well-being. You will gain an in depth knowledge and understanding of mental health.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal qualifications required to undertake this course. Although we would recommend that you have completed a Level 2 course before starting a Level 3. To secure your place, please return the completed application form to info@stepintolearning.org.uk. After which, we will send you an assessment to complete online. Following completion of the online assessment, we will either be in touch if we have any questions or we will give you access to the online portal so that you can begin your qualification. You will be allocated a tutor who will be able to support you if you have any questions.

Why should I do this qualification?

This course will provide you with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of mental health issues including legislation, services and public attitudes and how these have changed. Consequently, you will learn how to support mental well-being at different stages of life as well as looking at treatment options.

What will I learn?

This course will increase your knowledge and understanding of mental health and mental well-being. You will complete 5 mandatory units:

  • Unit 01: Understanding the context of mental health and wellbeing
  • Unit 02: Promotion of mental health and wellbeing
  • Unit 03: Mental health problems: associated issues and consequences
  • Unit 04: Understanding mental ill health
  • Unit 05: Working in mental health

How will I be assessed?

This course is internally assessed by your tutor. You will be required to answer questions in an electronic workbook. You can complete work at a a time to suit you, we provide recommended submission dates but you do not need to stick to these. Your tutor is available to provide support throughout the course.
