Menopause Event Launch 19th November 2024
Menopause is now a hot topic in boardrooms, front rooms and online across Great Britain. With so much information out there it can take a lot of time to verify that the information has value to you as an individual.
Step into Learning is keen to support the local community who might need help through this transition. We are delighted to launch our new Menopause Support Group to provide guidance and support to those who are struggling. This group will be supported by 2 incredible professional women with a passion for this topic.
Irena Jordi-Slater completed her training of 4 years in biomedicine and naturopathic nutrition with the College of Naturopathic Medicine. She works as a nutritional therapist from her base at the Ethos Health Store & Wellbeing Hub in Launceston. She uses evidence based scientific research to support her work. Irena’s aim is to inspire people and to use real food to truly nourish the body. Bespoke nutrition can bring fundamental change within the body and mind. Thus, it is a great tool to help balance symptoms in the perimenopause and menopause.
Our second contributor is Alison Jones who has a background as an intensive care nurse, and is a long time student and teacher of yoga, and is a yoga therapist. She is also a volunteer for The Women’s Centre Cornwall. Alison is passionate about working with women and aims to empower and support them to make changes and transform their lives. The beautiful qualities of self compassion and self acceptance being central to her work.
Yoga therapy has many benefits which include calming, soothing and energising, aiding overall health and wellbeing, as well as healing many physical and mental issues. Specifically, during perimenopause and the menopausal stage of life, yoga can be used therapeutically to: help balance hormonal changes, relieve anxiety and depression, harmonise emotions, strengthen bones, and support pelvic health.
Our first group will be held on Tuesday 19th November at 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm at The Orchard Centre, Blind Hole, Market Street, Launceston, PL15 8AU.
