National Baking Week 2025 took place from Tuesday 14th October to Monday 20th October 2025.

Did you know: National Baking Week was founded by Pyrex in 2007?

The week celebrates the art of baking and encourages everyone to get involved in baking activities. Baking has become increasingly ‘on trend’ since the arrival of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ on BBC Two in 2010. There was also a surge in home baking during the Covid pandemic.

Last week our Level 1 Step Into Hospitality and Level 2 Step Into Catering learners made Victoria sponge cakes and cheese scones to celebrate National Baking Week. Our learners enjoyed making the recipes their own by adding more cheese or cayenne pepper to their scones, or hand shaping them rather than using a cutter.
