Our Vision:
“To create a community where everyone has equal access to essential mental health support, regardless of their financial situation. Castle & Coast Therapies aspires to reduce the burden on NHS counselling services by providing accessible, low-cost counselling, fostering emotional well-being, and ensuring that no individual in Launceston and the surrounding areas is denied the help they need due to financial constraints”
Castle & Coast Therapies is an institutional member of BACP
To keep Castle & Coast Therapies running as a low-cost service, we rely on the kindness and support of our community, through donations. All donations go directly towards running costs – paying for our therapies co-ordinator, venue hire and advertising.

What is Counselling and what can I expect?
Counselling provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns. Your counsellor will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.
Your counsellor will not give you their opinions or advice. They will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with any problems.
Who will my Counsellor be?
Our trainee counsellors are:
- In the final year of their diploma qualification and have been assessed as “fit to practice”
- Fully insured under the Step Into Learning company insurance policy
- Receive regular professional supervision
- Members of or in the process of joining a governing body such as BACP or NCS
What will it cost?
We run Castle & Coast Therapies as a low-cost counselling service. We have a payment scale, according to household income, to try and keep counselling affordable for everyone:
£10 per session if your household income is up to £20,000
£15 per session if your household income is between £20,001 and £30,000
£20 per session if your household income is between £30,001 and £40,000
£35 per session if your household income is over £40,000
We are here to support the local community and rely on donations to support our low prices. Contact us to find out more and book your initial appointment.

Feeling nervous?
This is perfectly normal. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help but it can be the first step to feeling lighter, brighter, more positive and open doors of new opportunity.
