Step Into Skills – New Childcare Pathway
We are proud to announce the launch of our new Childcare pathway on the Step Into Skills study programme to help learners gain skills, confidence and practical experience
Learners interested in starting a career in childcare now have the opportunity to take their first step into the sector with the launch of this new pathway – designed for those looking to develop knowledge and practical skills, the programme offers a supportive introduction to early years education while helping learners build confidence for future employment or further study.
Running three days a week, the course leads to a Level 2 Award in Progression and combines classroom-based learning with practical experience. Participants will also benefit from one to two days of work experience, alongside support in developing Functional Skills in Maths and English where required.
The programme covers a wide range of essential topics, which may include:
- Supporting children’s literacy and numeracy development
- Supporting a child with writing
- Supporting a child with reading
- Virtual schools & Rich Education
- Developing skills for listening to children
- Play for early learning
- Physical and Physiological needs of children or young & developmenot of children
- Importance of Play
- Understanding how to care for babies under 12 months
The course has been designed to give learners a solid foundation in childcare while providing valuable insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of working with young children.
With growing demand for skilled childcare professionals across the UK, the programme aims to equip learners with the essential knowledge and experience needed to progress into further qualifications or employment within the early years sector.
