Supported Internship Partnership – Philip Warren Butchers

by | Sep 23, 2026

We are delighted to announce the continuation of our Supported Internship partnership with Philip Warren Butchers in Launceston for the 2026–27 academic year.

Philip Warren Butchers is a well-respected, family-run business known for its high-quality local produce, traditional butchery expertise and popular Hot Carvery Shop, making it a valued part of the local community.

Lewis has recently started his placement and will be working four days a week, developing his hospitality, retail and employability skills in a real workplace environment.

He has begun his journey in the Hot Carvery Shop, where he is gaining hands-on experience serving hot food, hot and cold drinks, and snacks, as well as developing his confidence and customer service skills while working on the tills.

Although Lewis only started his placement last week, he has already made fantastic progress and shown great enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to learn. We are incredibly proud of what he has achieved in such a short time and look forward to seeing his confidence and skills continue to grow throughout his Supported Internship.

Supported Internships provide young people with the opportunity to gain meaningful workplace experience, develop employability skills and build confidence, while receiving personalised support to help them progress towards paid employment.

A huge thank you to Philip Warren Butchers for continuing to work in partnership with Step Into Learning and for providing Lewis with such a valuable opportunity.

Well done, Lewis – we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
