Summer Term Work Experience
We are very proud of our learners on our hospitality and catering study programmes who have recently completed another work experience placement. They have learnt new skills such as multi-tasking, organisation and customer service, and have another amazing experience to add to their CVs. We asked them to reflect on their work experience placements – read on to hear what they said:
“Brilliant experience as expected, I learnt much more and was able to spend time on the expresso machine and in other areas of the shop. I have grown more confident in the kitchen where before I avoided it at all costs. I have developed a learner’s mindset instead of chasing perfection. I developed communication skills, speed and am able to work towards a realistic standard.”

“I think everything went quite well. I learnt how to wash dishes in a dish washer and how to stack the dishes in the crates that are put in the dishwasher. I think the overall experience went quite well. I would like to go here again.”

“Working at the larder once a week has been fun, interesting and engaging. I have learnt how to display the items, taking produce out of the bags and displaying in the boxes for when the public come in. I have met some of the public and observed from afar the positive behaviour within the larder. I look forward to continuing my journey there.”
