Summer’s Back from Belgium After an Exciting Football Tour

Summer has returned from an unforgettable tour of Belgium with the Plymouth Argyle Advanced Development Centre — proudly wearing our Step Into Learning-sponsored football shirt throughout the trip.

The tour was packed with exciting football, tough competition and memorable experiences both on and off the pitch.

Summer’s first match against SK Eernegem ended in a dramatic 2–1 defeat after the opposition scored a last-minute penalty. Despite the heartbreaking finish, the team showed determination and resilience throughout the match.

The second game against KSV Bredene was another thrilling contest, ending 3–3 before Argyle secured victory in a tense penalty shootout.

Both matches were competitive, exciting and full of energy, with Summer often playing against girls who were older and much taller than her — making her performances even more impressive.

Away from football, the team also enjoyed exploring Belgium together. Summer visited the beautiful city of Bruges, where she sampled famous Belgian waffles and bought some delicious chocolate. The squad also enjoyed a fun evening of ten-pin bowling with teammates, coaches and parents.

One of the highlights of the trip was meeting and playing football with young people from different countries at the holiday park, creating new friendships through the game they all love.
